25th October, 2008. 6:11 pm. :(

I had another one of my recurring-theme dreams about nuclear war last night.

I was up in my room and saw on the TV that the Russians had launched a full-scale attack on us (the announcer sounded pretty bored, though). I ran downstairs to inform mom, and she told me to take out the garbage. Strangely enough, I complied, and while I was walking out to the trash, I saw flashes to the south indicating the bombing of targets in Ohio. I looked above and saw what appeared to be fighter jets launching missiles down below...at me. (Well, not at ME, but with a nuclear weapon, it's easy to be indiscriminate with your targets). I saw one of the missiles fly over my house, headed presumably towards the nuclear power plant. So, I did my last-ditch plan that I have in the eventuality I'm about to die: I repeat my name in my head over and over as hard as I can, with the hope that -- in the absence of an afterlife -- I'm able to stay conscious after death through sheer force of will. White flash.

(That's an actual plan, by the way, not just something from a dream).

Anyway, I woke up after the flash.

10th October, 2008. 2:16 am. Heroes (SPOILARS)

I'm definitely loving this season so far. Contrary to what others (like Tuna Man) feel, I'm totally bought over by the writers shoveling thousands of plot points down our throats. At least it's not boring shit like last season!

Thoughts so far:

I love how Maya's accent totally went away.

I also love how everybody forgot she was a wanted criminal.

Tracy =/= Niki. THANK GOD.

Poor Spider-Mohinder.

Domestic Sylar = awesome.

Future Claire = a total bitch. (Though that might be from the total incest she and future Peter were up to).

Matt/Daphne? Ewwwww. It's either Matt/Mohinder, or Matt/his wife from S1. Or are we forgetting she ever existed, like Maya's accent?

I'm not a l33t d00d like Tuna Man and his 100 Push-up challenge, but this looks like something I could tackle:

So, I started a new iCarly story entitled iDolatry about how the iCarly gang meets Jesus, and I just got this review for it:

"nigga you crazy!"

It is the best review I have ever gotten.

7th August, 2008. 3:58 pm. One of my favorite memories

It was the end of the my last year as a high schooler. The actual last day was but a few days away. The news then was about high tensions between India and Pakistan -- and I think there was the unspoken worry that they might decide to start launching nuclear salvos.

At the end of the school day, my best friend Melanie and I decided to just go to McDonald's instead of straight home. (It was, in fact, the first time I had not gone home via the bus or a family member ever). As we ate our food purchased with change scrounged from her car and our pockets, we just hung out and talked. I remember sharing my fears that my Internet friend Tarun might be killed if the India-Pakistan situation popped its top.

But yeah, on that beautiful spring day, with french fries in my belly and a looming radioactive threat, the world seemed great.

(Yeah, one of my favorite memories involves a nuclear standoff. I'm weeeeeird).

27th July, 2008. 12:09 am. Marienbad, My Love

So, I've discovered a delightful 'little' novel named Marienbad, My Love for short (the full title is 61 pages long). It's supposed to clock in at over 10 million words, making it the longest novel ever written. I'm already on page 15 of the first part, and I think I'm going to try and read the whole thing. It can't be any worse than A Study In Scarlet, anyway.

28th June, 2008. 4:34 am. I've been thinking about starting a webcomic.

The webcomic would be entitled Bear vs. Shark, and it would be about the secret war between bears and sharks which is waged in the human world.

Here is a preliminary sketch of three of the main characters.

Arthur Bearington is a mild-mannered office worker in Montana by day, but by night he's a secret agent for the bears. He keeps an eye on the humans to make sure they don't get genocide-happy on his species, and is the first, last, and only line of defense for the sharks.

Cynthia Bearington is Arthur's unsuspecting wife. (She's not too bright). I don't know what kind of hairstyle to put on her (translation: I suck at hair), so I just gave her the bald look for now.

Chet White is Arthur's opposite number, the enemy shark agent who lives next door. Arthur doesn't suspect him. I don't know whether to make him a jerk or comic relief.

(Also, I think I'd like something a little more sophisticated than MS Paint if I were to actually do this -- but not as sophisticated as Photoshop or something. Any suggestions?)
